Sargam is a 25-year-old single mother living with her 8-year-old son, Kannu, in
the Gandhi Nagar slums in Mumbai. There’s satellite TV, a fridge, and smartphones in every home—but no running water toilets.
While men go out near the pipelines, women have no option but to go out late
night in dark places to attend to hygiene matters.
One such night, after the Holi festivities, Sargam is sexually assaulted. Kannu now becomes obsessed with setting things right for his mother and the other women in the
neigbourhood—even if he has to knock on the door of the prime Minister of
India and ask a few tough questions. He won’t hesistate.
Along with his friends, Ringtone and Niralaa, he boards a train to Delhi...
