The early 70's was a crucial time in Australian political history, with Aboriginal political activism fast gaining momentum. One of the expressions of this new wave of consciousness was The National Black Theatre movement in Redfern. More than just a theatre movement, the organization served as the genesis of a much larger political scene that gave rise to a number of significant Aboriginal organisations. This tribute to its trailblazers maps out the movement's lasting legacy on national politics, social welfare and the Australian arts community.
